2013-01-20 San Diego Safari Park

Now that my review of 2014 is complete, I’ll be starting the process again with 2013. I’ll begin by sharing my January visit to the old “Wild Animal Park”, now called “Safari Park”. I signed up for a year’s membership earlier this morning because I wanted to photograph some of the free ranging birds that nest there. No nesting was taking place in January, but I visited this place again in April and May, when nesting season was peaking.

Creatures I chose to photograph on this visit were Red-Breasted Merganser, Nicobar Pigeon, Himalayan Monal, Green Imperial Pigeon, Lilac-Breasted Roller, Northern Pintail, Shoe-Billed Stork, Grey Crowned Crane, White Rhinoceros, Giraffe. I photographed several other subjects, but these are those I thought worth sharing.
