2015-02-15 Daley Ranch and Pamo Valley

Orange-Crowned Warbler - Oreothlypis celata

On this weekend I made two excursions. Saturday found me on a reserve just north of Escondido called The Daley Ranch, located in a high valley in the northern part of town near Dixon Lake. Due to some camera problems, I was only able to capture images very early in the morning. I’m sure to find my way there again in days to come.

On Sunday I found my way into Pamo Valley, where sparrows were happily singing. Pamo Valley is a rural valley located north of Ramona. On both mornings, the caretakers of these places sought be out to see what I was up to. Both gentlemen and I ended up in long and agreeable conversations.

Birds in this set include Lark Sparrow, Orange-Crowned Warbler, and Savannah Sparrow.
