Franklin's Gull - Larus pipixcanI pulled into Klamath Falls Oregon in the late afternoon on June 4th. After securing lodging and a meal I wandered down to Veteran’s Park next to Lake Ewauna and collected the birds there at the park shore. While capturing Ring-Billed Gulls, a Franklin’s Gull came in near enough that it was difficult to frame the bird well. Up stream the Klamath River exits Upper Klamath Lake and the short section of river that joins the two lakes called the Link River. There is a nice hike/bike trail that runs on the western shore and this riparian area was a worthwhile place for a some nice bird species.

The next morning I returned to these locations and shot until it was time to leave and meet up with my nephew and his family in Central Point, north of Medford Oregon.

Some of the subjects I captured were American White Pelican, Barrow’s Goldeneye, Black-Headed Grosbeak, Bullock’s Oriole, Caspian Tern, Cedar Waxwing, Common Merganser, Double-Crested Cormorant, Franklin’s Gull, Great Egret, Ring-Billed Gull, Tree Swallow, Western Grebe and Yellow Warbler.
