2015-10-22 “Common” Tucson Birds

Broad-Billed Hummingbird - Cynanthus latirostrisOne positive that came out of having my transportation down was that I could spend quality time with the birds around my cousin’s abode. It’s likely that many locals here might have little interest in the resident bird population, but I see these as very interesting subjects. What is “common” to one person, might be exotic to another. One goal I tried to meet on this trip was to capture some of these locally “common” subjects. My image collection contained scant samples of most of these, but a few were non-existent. This visit provided the time to gather some images of these subjects while visiting family here. It was my good fortune to enjoy their generous hospitality.

This was also an opportunity for me to become better acquainted with the new camera. I believe I was able to exploit some of its features during these three days, in particular the focusing system. As you review the images from these sessions, see if you do not agree.
