Raptors

Raptors, or ‘birds of prey’, get their name from the grasping talons they use to seize and subdue their prey. On display in these galleries are Owls (Burrowing, Great Horned, Long-Eared, Northern Pygmy, Short-Eared, and Western Screech), Hawks (Common Black, Coopers, Ferrugineus, Harris’s, Northern Harrier, Red-Shouldered, Red-Tailed, Rough-Legged, Sharp-Shinned, Swainson’s, and White-Tailed Kite), Falcons (American Kestrel, Merlin, Peregrine and Prairie Falcon), Eagles (Bald, Golden, and Martial), and Osprey.
