Thrashers

Thrashers got their name from how they ‘thrash’ through dirt or dead leaves when foraging for food. These birds are powerful singers and will sometimes mimic sounds they hear and incorporate them into their own songs. Birds whose images are on display in these galleries include California Thrasher, Crissal Thrasher, Curve-Billed Thrasher, Gray Catbird, Le Conte’s Thrasher, Long-Billed Thrasher, Northern Mockingbird, Sage Thrasher, and the Socorro Mockingbird.
