Black Phoebes in Texas
Sayornis nigricans
One of my favorite birds, the Black Phoebe is often conspicuous when hunting their insect prey. They are not especially migratory, and are resident throughout most of their range, which is coastal California, southern Arizona and New Mexico, western Texas, most of Mexico and Central America, and parts of western South America.
The birds on display in this gallery are strictly those I met in Texas. To see some of the birds I met in California and Arizona, visit the <Species Gallery>.
