The Upland Sandpiper, though technically a ‘shorebird’, is more closely associated with dry grasslands. These birds breed in grassy prairies of the upper Mississippi Valley, the Great Lakes region and the interiors of Alaska, Yukon and Northwest Territories of Canada.
