Mice and Rats are rarely looked at with fondness by humans. In July 2016 I took part in a project called “The San Diego County Mammal Atlas”. Part of my responsibility in the project was to wrangle images for the book, and part was to take images of small rodents trapped by the science team. As I learned more about the individual species, I took on an appreciation I’d missed before making their acquaintance. I still don’t want them in my house, but in their natural habitat (what little we’ve left for them), they are amazing to me.
The Galleries and Albums linked below are organized in “Genus” groups, labeled with their ‘Common Names’.
