Sometimes when my brain quiets down and the noise of worldly things subsides, philosophical thoughts will creep in. Shadows, and their very existence, and all the parallel concepts (such as evil, lies, and hate) may become the focus during these moments.
There have been periods in my life when I’ve encountered wisdom and I’ve been challenged to re-think basic concepts. Subjects such as those mentioned in the opening do not exist on their own merit. They can only be described by what they are not. A shadow has no power of its own and ceases to exist with the presentation of light. Evil can only be described as the absence of good. A lie is the ‘not-truth’ and goes out of existence when the truth is known. Hate is absence of love and goes out of existence when one learns to love. These subjects beg the question: do they exist at all?
